The Long Products Division, Steel of West Virginia is expanding and adding positions for Millwrights. We offer competitive pay, insurance (health/dental/vision - $180/month  for family coverage), retirement (401(k) and Roth, weekly production bonus, profit sharing (twice a year - cash bonus), vacation, personal days, etc.  

 

After a brief probationary period of 675 hours the rate of pay is $27.45/hr.  Overtime is also available and encouraged!!

 

Responsibilities

  • Position Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a safe work environment.
    • Good communication skills with an ability to work within a team environment.
    • Operating mobile equipment, troubleshooting and repairing systems: (Combustion systems, fluid power systems, mechanical power transmission systems, water systems, pneumatic systems, etc.).
    • This position requires a strong ability to lead and perform repairs to the departmental equipment .
    • Mechanical maintenance in various areas of the mill.
    • Working with the department Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Maintenance Foreman/Supervisors, other Millwrights, Electricians, Shift Supervisors, and Operators to drive the department production goals.
    • Focus will be on safety and assisting operations as needed to ensure uptime and reliability.

Qualifications

Required:

  • An excellent safety and attendance record.
  • Previous mechanical maintenance experience (diagnosing, repairing, installing and maintaining industrial equipment.
  • Fabrication skills that include torching, welding, and blueprint reading.

 

Preferred:

  • A basic understanding of PLC’s, HMI’s, and electromechanical equipment that will aid in troubleshooting with the caster electrical maintenance team.
  • Technical training and certifications.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, grease systems, gearing, gear alignment, rigging, overhead cranes, pendant cranes, and precision instruments.
