Electrical Engineer

Provides electrical engineering, technical, and process engineering support for facility and continuous process lines operations.


  • Reviews engineering logs, production performance, and data to troubleshoot operational questions and problems.
  • Provides electrical and automation repairs and improvements.
  • Acts as a resource for quality-related items (coil research, production and engineering logs, sales questions).
  • Design level understanding of Low, Medium, and High Voltage control and distribution.
  • Responsible for documentation such as print updates, procedures, maintenance reports, etc.
  • Makes improvements by modifying automation, electrical and mechanical systems as well as recommending changes to the process.
  • Provides engineering design, changes, implementation, and capital projects.
  • Act as a technical resource for operators regarding operation and functionality of equipment.
  • Responsible for backups and disaster recovery for drives and Level 1 systems.
  • Plan and execute maintenance down periods.
  • Supervise and develop department electrical technicians.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with a good mechanical background
  • Strong project management skills
  • LOTOTO experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Good understanding of closed loop control systems
  • Two to 5 years of experience in the metals or related industry preferred (continuous process line experience is a plus)
  • Maintenance experience preferred
  • Experience in training hourly employees preferred
  • People supervision experience preferred
  • Proficient in automation, AC drives, process controls, Siemans PLCs and software is a plus.
  • Basic metallurgical knowledge of ferrous materials preferred
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects to ensure timeliness.
