Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the entire process of procuring scrap metal from all potential generators (Secure Bid Opportunity, Review Material, Quote Pricing, Set Up Transportation, Contract Entry, Confirm Received Material Meets Spec, Price For Payment).

  • Develop new and maintain existing customer relationships.
  • Generate opportunities and build relationships with new and/or prospective customers.

  • Maintain profitable accounts within established pricing guidelines.
  • Identify and implement margin opportunities with existing accounts.
  • Take proactive measures to quickly resolve external/internal customer service issues.
  • Complete paperwork to meet deadlines.
  • All other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous sales or scrap buying experience, ideally within the Construction/Demolition Industries.

  • Working knowledge of scrap pricing, material identification, costs, operations, and transportation.
  • Ability to generate and qualify leads and close deals.
  • Ability to empathize with others with the intent of turning a difficult situation into a positive outcome.

  • Intermediate to expert level with Microsoft products, with ability to quickly learn new software programs.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Ability to prioritize while working multiple tasks with specific deadlines.

  • Flexible schedule and some travel required.
