Reports directly to Commodities Risk Manager expected to focus primarily on aluminum risk management and the related hedging activities.

Risk Management

• Owner of price risk mitigation, trading and execution of hedging transactions, communicates frequently with multiple business partners to understand and ensure current and future exposures are properly mitigated
• Assists in establishing the hedging process and policies for the aluminum flat rolled business, understanding the multiple business unit involvement and hedging transactions involved for OmniSource nonferrous metals recycling, aluminum slab centers and flat roll aluminum mill
• Communication with treasury back office and data entry into tracking software for proper accounting treatment as well as cash settlement on derivatives
• Assists in establishing and maintaining hedge accounting policy and relationships
• Maintains nonferrous broker/bank relationships as necessary

Overall Responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned

• Serve as backup on various treasury functions

• 10+ years minimum of relevant financial risk management experience
• Finance or accounting degree preferred
• Metals industry experience a plus with knowledge of LME, CME and COMEX and related pricing structures
• MBA or CPA a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
