This is an exceptional opportunity to join SDI’s corporate accounting team in a highly visible cross-functional pertaining to corporate accounting functions, including technical accounting research, external and internal financial reporting, company-wide record retention management, and many other operational initiatives.   This important role will actively participate in the leadership of our financial reporting processes throughout the company.   The successful candidate will participate in an exciting portfolio of company-wide accounting and reporting responsibilities and have a high degree of potential future advancement with the company.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Actively participate and/or supervise in SDI’s corporate accounting functions, including:
    • Monthly consolidation and external/internal financial reporting
    • SEC reporting responsibilities
    • Routine interface with external audit teams and help with the overall administration of our external audits
    • Perform technical accounting research / assisting in interpreting technical accounting questions
    • Participate in initiatives to innovate the technology that supports our financial and accounting processes
    • Assist with acquisition due diligence, integration post-acquisition and acquisition accounting
    • Participate in SDI’s sustainability initiatives
    • Become an expert pertaining to SDI’s internal control environment
  • Participate in numerous other special projects and ad hoc requests as directed
  • Primary company-wide management of record retention
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial forecasts tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA
  • 4+ years of related public company accounting experience
    • Strongly preferred—heavy experience as client service professional in public accounting firm (Big 4) working on public company clients
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and public company reporting, with past participation in complex transactions, such as:
    • Consolidation of a large number of subsidiaries
    • Routine and non-routine SEC filings
    • Debt and/or stock offering
  • Understanding of internal controls over financial reporting, SOX and auditor testing related thereto
  • Proven ability to collaborate, multitask and effectively work within ENERGETIC teams working on numerous projects or responsibilities at the same time

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative style

Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge in Excel
