Overview

Steel Dynamics, Inc. announced its entry into the flat rolled aluminum market with a revolutionary 650,000 tonne per year facility in Columbus, Mississippi.  Aluminum Dynamics is SDI’s first aluminum facility that is projected to start up in 2025.  This is an exciting opportunity to be on the ground floor of this new market for SDI.  This position will start simultaneously with the start of construction of this multi-billion-dollar facility, providing the unique opportunity to help design and implement the systems and procedures required by the mill.  

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, analyzes, and modifies software applications including coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and installing.
  • Provides user support of software applications (including bug fixes, report writing, data transformation, etc.)
  • Gathers software requirements through collaboration with end users and stakeholders.
  • Assembling and leading the project team
  • Participating in and overseeing each stage of a project
  • Tracking milestones, deliverables, change requests, etc. throughout project lifecycle.
  • Serving as a liaison to communicate information regarding changes, milestones reached, and other pertinent information.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Good leadership, decision-making, and organization skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Effective communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Professional experience with modern software development practices in an enterprise environment.
  • Willingness to learn new development languages and tools.
  • .NET, C#, or general web development experience.
  • PowerBuilder or similar OOP experience.
  • Knowledge of database procedures and MSSQL concepts.
  • Proven experience in project management and software development.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
  • 2- Year Verifiable work experience in an industrial environment.
