Steel Dynamics, Inc. announced its entry into the flat-rolled aluminum market with a revolutionary 650,000 tonne per year facility in Columbus, Mississippi.  Aluminum Dynamics is SDI’s first aluminum facility that is projected to start up in 2025.  This is an exciting opportunity to be on the ground floor of this new market for SDI.  This position will start simultaneously with the start of construction of this multi-billion-dollar facility, providing the unique opportunity to help design and implement the network infrastructure, systems, and procedures required by the mill.  The Systems Engineer will play an integral role in the design and implementation of all systems implemented in this new business.   The Systems Engineer performs a variety of tasks in deploying and maintaining all network, server, backup, and other IT infrastructure. Coordinate with the Infrastructure team to implement SOPs including Disaster Recovery.  The Systems Engineer will work with the IT Manager and other IT Support Staff to support the mill operations.

• Provide End-User Support
• Coordinate projects with IT Team to ensure successful completion.
• Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
• Maintaining network Security following company policies
• Work with departments to develop infrastructure solutions to meet their needs

Required

• 5+ years of professional Systems Engineering experience
• 5+ years of network and PC maintenance experience
• 5+ years of VMWare & VCenter experience
• Demonstrated leadership skills

Preferred

• Veeam, ServiceDesk Plus, CUCM, Fortinet, O365, Network+, Security+, CCNA, Bachelor’s Degree in computer science
