The Shift Electrician is a lead supporting role that responds to trouble calls of various types. He interacts with Operations and reports to the Shift Supervisor and Electrical Supervisor for electrical, instrumentation, programming, and automation issues/improvements.

Responsible for emergent electrical repairs, programming/automation troubleshooting and/or modifying, and preventative maintenance to ensure continuous operation of the production lines.

Requirements 

Strong communication skills.

Excellent safety and attendance record.

Training or technical degree in automation/control circuits as well as power distribution with extensive experience in:

• Utilizing software applications to troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
• Troubleshooting and theoretical knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
• Troubleshooting and theoretical knowledge of Motors and Motor Controller Cabinets
• Troubleshooting and theoretical knowledge of Flow/Temperature/Pressure Instrumentation.

Proficient with specialized test equipment (i.e., PQM, Fluke 87, Profibus Addresser, Insulation Tester, Oscilloscope).

Experience/Preferences

• Experience working on overhead bridge cranes.
• TIA Portal/Step 7/LogiCAD/XPact
