Responsible for dispatching company and third party trucking as well as fielding calls from customers.
Responsibilities
Coordinate freight movements.
Dispatch and assign drivers for customers in VA locations utilizing OTM.
Provide quality customer service to all internal and external customers.
Effectively communicate with yard managers to access their transportation/dispatch needs.
All other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s Degree/Associate’s Degree in Transportation Management or related field and/or minimum three years of experience in dispatch.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with other departments and all levels of employees.
Must represent the company at all times in a positive and professional manner to enhance the company’s image with employees, leadership and the public.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and demonstrate effective time management skills.
Strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations.
Ability to make quick decisions in an ever changing fast paced work environment.
Preferred
Dispatch experience preferred, but not required.
CDL or previous driving experience is preferred, but not required.
OTM experience is preferred, but not required.
