Monitor, operate and maintain all water-cooling treatment systems, to assure efficient operation and achieve required water quality.

• Monitor and operate all equipment associated with water treatment facilities, including pumps, watewater, filtration systems, cooling towers, heat exchangers, chemical systems, compressed air systems etc.
• Use system feedback, data, and analytical results to adjust system parameters as necessary to maintain optimum operating conditions, and water quality.
• Perform accurate recording and documentation of water quality data and meter readings.
• Checking and maintaining chemical inventories.
• General housekeeping of all Watertreat areas.
• Coordinate scale pit and solidification pit cleanings.
• Assist plant millwrights, electricians and/or contractors with the maintenance of the above equipment.
• Safely handle and supervise others in the safe handling of water treat and chemicals.
• Understand and fulfill SDI’s state & local water permit requirements.
• Ability to trouble shoot, and problem solve.

Required: 

• Flexibility to work extra shifts and overtime as need for outages, maintenance jobs, or shift coverage.
• Ability to learn and apply safe chemical handling concepts including HAZWOPER training.

Preferred:

• Previous water treatment or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience storing and managing bulk chemicals.
• Understanding of water treatment systems.
