Establish and implement both short and long-term logistics strategy, develop and maintain relationships with logistics companies to maximize SDI efficiency of moving material for customer base, maintain all transportation rates with the logistic community, assist with the solicitation and help negotiate long-term agreements for dedicated lanes, establish inbound logistic strategy, develop a plan to study industry standards for truck rates and surcharge methods, and hold regular meetings with dispatch to discuss system issues, trucking company problems, and transportation claims.

• • Use Princeton TMX to maintain truck availability for SDI customer lanes
  • Coordinate all incoming truck and rail deliveries of hot band coils
  • Create data reports to reflect freight results for monthly review
  • Develop and maintain unloading instructions for common destinations and specialty end-use customers
  • Develop discussion reports for average miles, pounds, and rates per load shipped
  • Maintain two separate tables containing actual freight costs and the sales cost associated with order entry calculations

• • Five (5) or more years of experience working in logistics or related areas
  • Proficiency in Ross, Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Able to multitask and direct people
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
