Overview

The LMS Site Administrator is responsible for managing Steel Dynamics’ Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle Workplace site, tailoring it to align with the company’s training objectives and user needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design course structures and learning paths
  • Create user accounts and manage access levels
  • Experience integrating the LMS with other systems
  • Upload and manage course materials, including videos, documents, and assessments
  • Ensure content accessibility and quality
  • Troubleshoot learner issues with the LMS platform
  • Provide training and guidance to users on LMS features
  • Answer user inquiries related to course navigation and functionality
  • Track learner progress and generate reports on course completion rates
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and optimize the LMS
  • Configure the LMS platform § Monitor system performance and address technical issues
  • Stay current with LMS features and functionalities
  • Partner with internal and external customers to identify, plan, create, test, support, and maintain effective and innovative learning opportunities (e.g., e-learning, web-based learning, mobile application, podcasting, virtual classroom, videos, tutorials, etc.)
  • Convert instructor-led training (ILT) to e-learning based content

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Learning Technologies, or degree in any other relevant field
  • Proficiency with LMS Platforms § Ability to help diagnose and resolve issues related to the LMS
  • Effective communication with both technical and non-technical users to provide support and training
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
  • Ensure accuracy in user data, course content, and system configuration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to use sound judgment
  • Self-starter with a willingness to take initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision to bring projects to completion
  • Flexibility to work extra hours, as needed

Preferred

  • Experience with Moodle or Moodle Workplace
