Responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, and services, and managing vendors.

• Source, qualify, and audit suppliers of consumables for the Mill
• Monitor inventories and forecast upcoming levels of demand to ensure steady and healthy flows
• Analyze markets to assess and manage risks and opportunities
• Work with operations to address any quality and delivery issues with suppliers
• Assist accounting in monthly inventory audits
• Assist operating departments with tasks as assigned
• Assist, monitor, and communicate with the OmniSource scrap team and the Butler Melt Shop with all scrap sourcing
• Work with divisional Controller and GM with natural gas forward purchases
• Purchase zinc for both Butler locations and assist with the zinc purchasing at sister companies
• Work with Melt and Casting Departments with alloy purchases
• Assist with pig iron purchasing

Required

• 4-year college degree, preferably in Business Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or similar
• 5-8 years of relevant work experience
• Relevant core competencies required: effective negotiator, organized, project management and multi-tasking, applying practical analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
• Ability to work independently and as a team member with excellent interpersonal skills
• Exceptional and proven verbal and written communication skills, with all levels of management
• Proficient in Excel
