Overview

This multi-dimensional position combines accounting skills with payroll and benefits.  The successful candidate will be responsible for all accounting aspects related to payroll which would include month-end journal entries, month-end reports and any other payroll-related information needed to assist with the closing process.  This position will also be responsible for other Finance Department duties.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the month-end accounting of all payroll JE's and other payroll information needed for the closing process
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of payroll/benefits
  • Review weekly payrolls
  • Supervise the Payroll Clerk and Benefits Clerk
  • Perform account reconciliations for all payroll accounts
  • Assist with year-end W-2 filing
  • Assist Finance Department with other duties commensurate with prior experience
  • Review annual RSU and profit-sharing files
  • Prepare annual rate adjustment files
  • Calculate/prepare monthly conversion bonus and quarterly ROA bonus
  • Work closely with internal/external auditors
  • Responsible for various monthly inter-company items
  • Responsible for and assist with other Finance Department activities

Qualifications

  • 4-year accounting degree with CPA/CMA (Experience in the payroll/benefits area preferred)
  • Cannot have an immediate family member employed at this division.  Refer to the Employee Handbook for the definition of immediate family member
  • Must be able to maintain a professional environment and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Must be able to multi-task, solve problems and be detail-oriented within a confidential environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills are required
  • Proficient use of Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and benefit plans is preferred
