Conduct physical testing of steel

• LMF Lab Technician
• Spectrochemical, slag XRF & LECO combustion analysis of heats from LMF, Caster and Hot Mill.
• Standardization and maintenance of spectrometers, XRF and LECO units.
• Maintenance of Caster & LMF temperature system.
• Perform metallurgical laboratory analyses of steel products and associated processes.
• Maintain laboratory safety, laboratory equipment and calibration to appropriate standards.
• Support projects pertinent to new products, productivity & continuous improvement.
• Cross train between multiple jobs, filling positions when needed.
• Assist LMF operators when time permits.

Skills Required:

• Ability to work independently and follow directions.
• Operation, Maintenance, and Standardization of Spectrometers, Leco Units and Other Lab Equipment.

Preferred:

• General chemistry knowledge; Crane, Forklift, or Other Equipment
