Responsible for performing payroll functions and administration of the company’s benefit programs.
· Accurately process multiple payrolls including—weekly, monthly, quarterly, conversion and special payrolls—ensuring timely and accurate paycheck distribution.
· Maintain sensitive employee data with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
· Ensure payroll practices comply with company policies and applicable federal, state and local regulations.
· Maintain accurate, complete and up-to-date employee payroll and benefits records.
· Support the administration of employee benefit programs, including enrollments, changes and terminations.
· Assist in presenting employee benefits information during meetings and new hire orientations.
· Process employee status changes, including new hire enrollments, terminations and benefit updates as needed.
· Complete E-Verify for new hires and ensure all proper documentation is collected, verified and maintained.
· Monitor and respond to payroll and benefits related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
· Assist with internal and external audits.
· Perform other payroll and benefits duties as assigned
REQUIRED
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or equivalent technical training.
· Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience preferred.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Self-motivated with ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
· Flexibility to work extra hours and weekends, as needed.
· May NOT be related to another Employee of Steel Dynamics. The definition of relative in this requirement is any person who is related by blood or marriage, or whose relationship with the employee is similar.
