Overview

The Sales Engineer serves as a key technical resource throughout the sales process; ensuring customer needs are effectively aligned with product solutions. The role provides technical guidance and works closely with the Sales and Estimating team to develop tailored, competitive proposals. It also involves cross-departmental collaboration to optimize solutions, enhance product offerings, and ensure successful project handoffs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary technical liaison for Sales and Estimating teams.
  • Technical analysis of structural requirements and provide cost-effective quotes.
  • Execute value engineering strategies to enhance CLP Systems’ competitiveness across all markets.
  • Support the Estimating Supervisor in developing and implementing processes, procedures, and tools to optimize estimating operations.
  • Review drawings and scope to proactively prevent bid-time and project handoff challenges.
  • Assist sales team with technical training and resources.
  • Troubleshoot scope discrepancies with estimators and review drawings to identify bid-time issues.
  • Assist with scope calls.
  • Travel as needed to educate engineers and contractors of CLP Systems' design standards and installation procedures.
  • Facilitate communication among customers, AEC professionals, and CLP departments to support competitive advantage and smooth project transitions.

Qualifications

Required

  • FE with ability to obtain PE License within four (4) years.
  • Willingness to go beyond typical duties to assist co-workers.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, high stress, deadline driven environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; with a background in AutoCAD or Bluebeam.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels inside and outside the organization.

Preferred

  • Prior CLP or NMBS knowledge and experience
  • BSCE in Civil Engineering and (3-4) years of prior structural engineering
  • Experience with Excel VBA.
